This is the ideology on which the Training and Placement Cell of this Institute runs. The Training and Placement Cell of Guru Tegh Bahadur 4th Centenary Engineering College is an integral part of GTB4CEC and has been designed to function with a high degree of professionalism. It plays a pivotal role in exploring and locating job opportunities for the young engineers passing out from GTB4CEC by liaisoning with reputed industrial firmaments. GTB4CEC aspires to provide these students with a platform for using their potential and transforming them into young corporals.

Training & Placement Cell has always strived to provide almost instantaneous data to the corporate sector about the candidates available for consideration towards placement following the preserved requirements. Training activities are organized throughout the year with the sole motive of strengthening the students' forte in today's ever-challenging technical world along with technical expertise combined with effective interpersonal skills.

The Placement Cell acts as an interface between the Institute and Corporate by inviting them to the campus, where the eligible students are facilitated to go through the entire selection process. The entire process is governed by the student's ability and performance, as well as the requirements and norms of the Industry. GTB4CEC has been acting as a platform for providing quality technical education with a mission of developing novice minds into technocrats. We always strive our best to find the best match that fit the need of the recruiters and the students for a brighter future for an individual and overall society.

Placement Policy

All the reputed organizations as well as the Institute have been incurring considerable expenditure along with their valuable time on the placement activities of pre-final year engineering students. Therefore, a student not joining the organization after being finally selected reflects adversely on the Institute and as a result, the organization tends to discontinue their visit to the Institute for future placements. This jeopardizes career opportunities for future students. Taking this fact into consideration, the students therefore should consider appearing in only such campus drives where they are willing to take up the job. Appearing in campus drives just for the sake of testing their abilities should be avoided. Those who have seriously decided to go for higher studies (National/ International) should refrain from sitting in the campus placements held on the Institute premises or any other Pool campus drives. Placement is a facility provided by the Institute and it cannot be claimed as a matter of right.

Placement Objective

• Keep the students abreast about potential job opportunities and help them in making prudent decisions for their future careers.
• Maintaining and regularly updating the database of students and establishing strategic links for campus recruitment.
• Identifying the needs and expectations of the companies and assisting them in recruiting the most suitable candidates.
• Provide equal opportunities for all the students accordingly.
• Ensuring sustainable employment for all the students Creating awareness regarding new technologies and the latest demands of the market and job requirements of various companies among all the students.
• Sharpening the technical, analytical, and creative talents inherent in our students thus enabling them to make key strategic decisions in an increasingly complex corporate environment.

Placement Procedure

• Sending invitations to the Corporate enclosing a summary of the available branches of B.Tech for Campus Recruitment Program and then selecting the companies according to training and education of the student.
• Sending invitations to distinguished alumni of the Institute working in senior positions for the Campus Recruitment Program of pre-final year students and also inviting them to share their experiences which would help in the recruitment process.
• A database of the students will be created as per company requirements.
• Usually, a Pre Placement Talk (PPT) is conducted by the organization and explainsto the students about the job profile, service agreement, etc.
• The students are further invited to get any doubts clarified during this talk.(including the doubts regarding CTC, Fixed pay, variable pay, and other details regarding CTC).

Placement Eligibility And Registration

Campus Placement is meant for the final/pre-final year students. All the students seeking placement should register for campus placements with the Placement Office. Only registered students are eligible to participate in the placement activities.

Students can participate in the placement process of a company subject to the following conditions:

The Placement Office has confirmed his/her registration.

He/She meets the requirements/eligibility criteria specified by:

• The company
• By GTB4CEC placement policy
• Company criteria: 65% throughout with no active backlogs.
• 70% to 80% throughout with no active backlogs.

All students who are interested in availing of the college placement service are required to submit a Declaration of Commitment (form-1) declaring their commitment to the placement process at the time of registration for the placement.

All the students who are not interested in availing of the college placement services are required to give a Declaration of Non-Interest (form-2), before the start of the placement process. Students are not allowed to withdraw their declaration, once submitted.

Students must update their records in Placement Cell after the declaration of the result. Regular semester results will be updated timely as and when required. This is important because companies may reject the candidature of a student in case of an incomplete date.

It is the responsibility of the students to check announcements/notices/updated information communicated through mail or displayed on the notice board of the Placement Cell.
